The We Love Mountains Racing Teams Trophy wins from the HTRC's 2011 TT league

A great TT series was had by the WLM RT riders as together they took a total of 6 event wins with Ben Ives taking 5 despite at least one mechanical problem which put him out of contention of further wins and the series title. The 25mile 2up Thompson Trophy was shared with Nick Coupland who also won the Bob Hudson Memorial event to make good a fantastic first year of cycle competition for both riders.

Bens other trophy’s were the Sugg Cup, Phillips Cup, Jack McGlone Hill Climb and the Jack Kirk Cup

The 2011 Barracuda Triathlon Clubs annual awards night held at Lazaat’s restaurant in Cottingham East Yorkshire, was the first chance for the We Love Mountains Racing Team to revell in their successes with four of the athletes winning an astonishing seven awards as the team dominated the Barracuda and regional multisport events with impressive wins and great progress.

The teams latest multisport addition Ryan Hepworth managed to bag three all for himself including achieving 13th in the world and the fastest Brit in the 18-24 age group at this years World Ironman Championships at Kona, Hawaii in a time of 10:03:49. Special thanks go to the expert physiological support of Dr Grant Abt at the University of Hull’s Sport Health and Exercise Department facility for his assistance in acclimatising Ryan to the extreme conditions at Kona.

Thanks to the Barracuda Triathlon Club for a warm welcome for the team who are looking forward to next seasons great events and congratulations to James Bray, Tom MacDonald, Steve Coates and Ryan Hepworth for their outstanding efforts and performance over the 2011 triathlon season.

Mckeown-coaching says a big well done to Tom MacDonald for his great improvements this year and also to James Bray in his first year of triathlon which has seen him come on leaps and bounds since his eary seasons races. James will doubtless be ready and able to achieve still further impressive results in 2012. Steve Coates also gets a mention for managing to still pick up a multisport award despite a chronic knee problem which saw him adjust his 2011 season to a bigger cycling road race focus where he contributed greatly to the WLM RT successes.

PRICES TUMBLE as mckeown-coaching becomes One Year Old!
